Forum:Links in non-English lores

Following up from a discussion on Discord, there seems to be some interest in removing links from non-English card lores, with the main reason being difficulty in updating lores. Are there other reasons for doing this, or potential issues with it? I think links should normally be removed from non-English lores (but kept of trans_lore), with one main exception: I think links should be kept on card names that are not mentioned in the English lore, such as most non-English TCG lores of "Arsenal Summoner". Additionally, I think they could also be justified on archetypes mentioned in archetype conditions that don't exist in English, such as in the Portuguese lore of "Archfiend Soldier".

But outside of those cases, I think they just make keeping the lores up-to-date harder without adding any value (since the links are already present in the English lore). --SnorlaxMonster 10:24, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

Do you currently maintain any list(s) of cards that have those links? Detecting them automatically would be much more difficult (almost certainly to the point of being beyond my abiity to code for), and likely I would end up having to manually save edits while checking card lores, which would prohibitively increase the required amount of work. Far simpler would be to have a list of cards tht can either have the links manually re-added after the bot run, or be manually delinked and then excluded from the run. 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 18:16, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
