The story is written by [[Shin Yoshida]] and illustrated by [[Naohito Miyoshi]], both of whom previously created the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (manga)|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL]]'' and ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V (manga)|ARC-V]]'' manga.
Unlike every previous manga, ''OCG Stories'' does not feature the card game at all; it focuses on the lore that was previously created by [[Konami]] around certain card themes, with the first arc expanding the backstory of the "[[Sky Striker]]" [[archetype]]. The second story arc, beginning in January 2024, will focus on [[Crowley, the Magistus of Grimoires]] and the [[Magistus]] archetype.
