[Regarding the effect "You can target 1 monster on the field; banish it, then return it to the field."][1]
- It starts a Chain Link and can be activated by this face-up card in the Spell & Trap Zone.
- At resolution, apply "banish it". Then, if it was banished successfully, apply "return it to the field".[1]
- Banishing and returning to the field do not happen at the same time.

- It is applied before resolving an opponent's card effect that was activated by targeting this card in the Spell & Trap Zone. (It is applied even during the Damage Step.)
- Returning this card to the Spell & Trap Zone during the End Phase of the next turn does not start a Chain Link.
- During the End Phase of the next turn after this effect was applied, if you do not have a Spell & Trap Zone that can be used, this card is placed in the Graveyard.

- Q: If the 1st effect of "Interdimensional Matter Translocator" is activated by targeting a monster whose battle position was changed this turn, or a monster that was Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, Special Summoned, or Set this turn, can I change the battle position of the monster that returned to the Monster Zone during the same turn?
If a monster that declared an attack this turn is banished by the 1st effect of "Interdimensional Matter Translocator" and then returned to the Monster Zone, can I change that monster to Defense Position during Main Phase 2?
- Q: If the 1st effect of "Interdimensional Matter Translocator" is activated by targeting a monster whose battle position was changed this turn, or a monster that was Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, Special Summoned, or Set this turn, can I change the battle position of the monster that returned to the Monster Zone during the same turn?
- A: In both cases, you can change the monster's battle position.[2]
