  • Like Rafael's other Guardians, he protects it with his life. He would equip the Guardians' appropriate equips to it, then summon the cards and use Backup Gardna's effect to switch the equips to them.
  • In episode 156, Rafael uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He sets this card in Defense Position. "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" then attacks this card which flips this card face-up. Since this card's DEF was higher than the ATK of "Chimera", the attack fails. Rafael then equips this card with "Gravity Axe - Grarl", increasing its ATK by 500. This allowed him to summon "Guardian Grarl" to the field since it was the only card in his hand. Rafael then uses this card's effect to equip "Gravity Axe" on to "Grarl" instead (which transfers the boost of "Gravity Axe - Grarl" to "Guardian Grarl"). In the next episode, Rafael equips this card with "Rod of Silence - Kay'est", increasing its DEF by 500. This allows Rafael to summon "Guardian Kay'est". In the following episode, Yami is corrupted by "The Seal of Orichalcos". Later Yami Yugi uses "Dark Magician" (whose ATK was 3000 due to "The Seal of Orichalcos") to attack this card, but Rafael activates the "Aid to the Doomed" in his hand (which he could activate on Yami's turn due to its its effect) to negate the attack. On the last turn of the duel, Rafael equips this card with "Celestial Sword - Eatos", increasing its ATK by 300. This allows Rafael to summon "Guardian Eatos" since he has no monsters in his Graveyard. Rafael then uses this card's effect to equip "Celestial Sword" to "Eatos" instead (which transfers the boost of "Celestial Sword - Eatos" to "Guardian Eatos" instead). This card remained on the field until the Duel was over.
  • In episode 174, Rafael uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He summons this card on the first turn of the duel. On Rafael's next turn, he equips this card with "Gravity Axe - Grarl", increasing its ATK by 500. This allows Rafael to summon "Guardian Grarl" since it was the only card in his hand. He then uses this card's effect to equip "Gravity Axe" onto "Grarl" instead which transfers the boost this card got from "Gravity Axe" - Grarl" to "Guardian Grarl" instead. Later Rafael equips this card with "Butterfly Dagger - Elma", increasing its ATK by 300. This allows Rafael to Normal Summon "Guardian Elma". Rafael then uses this card's effect to equip "Butterfly Dagger" onto "Elma" instead, which transfers the boost this card got from "Butterfly Dagger - Elma" to "Guardian Elma" instead. Later Rafael activates "The Seal of Orichalcos". In the next episode, this card gained 500 ATK due to the effect of "The Seal of Orichalcos". Later Rafael equips this card with "Celestial Sword - Eatos" through the effect of "Guardian Formation", increasing its ATK by 300. Rafael then draws "Guardian Eatos" and subsequently Special Summons it as he had no monsters in his Graveyard. Rafael then activates this card's effect to equip "Celestial Sword" to "Eatos instead, transferring the boost this card got from "Celestial Sword - Eatos" to "Guardian Eatos" instead. Later Rafael equips this card with "Rod of Silence Kay'est", increasing its DEF by 500. This allows Rafael to summon "Guardian Kay'est". After Rafael's anger takes control of him, he summons "Guardian Dreadscythe" and equips it with "Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe". Later Rafael activates the third effect of "Guardian Dreadscythe" to destroy all of his other monsters and increase the ATK of "Guardian Dreadscythe" to 5500. In the following episode, Yami Yugi gets rid of "Dreadscythe" once for all which allows Rafael to regain control over his emotions. Rafael then uses the effect of "Underworld Circle" to revive his "Guardian Grarl". He then activates "Soul Charge" to revive this card, "Guardian Elma", and "Guardian Kay'est" and inflict 500 damage to himself for each monster that he revives through this effect. Since he revived three monsters, Rafael takes 1500 damage, winning Yami Yugi the Duel. Rafael did this on purpose to free all his trusty monsters from his Graveyard.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he notes to Rafael his heart was crying when this card was destroyed and he ruthlessly sacrificed his monsters.
  • In episode 197, this card appeared in a flashback explained by Arthur Hawkins. He explains that there was a tournament several years ago that offered the "Golden Castle of Stromberg" card as the prize, but it was never meant to be used. This card can be seen being used in a tournament Duel between two Duelists.
