• The effect that changes this card to face-down Defense Position is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target.)

• The effect that returns 1 monster the opponent controls to the hand is a Trigger Effect that always activates when "Guardian Statue" is Flip Summoned. (It targets 1 monster in the opponent's Monster Zone.)

• The effect that destroys [sic] a monster is not activated if "Guardian Statue" is flipped face-up by a card effect or an opponent's monster's attack. (It activates only when "Guardian Statue" is Flip Summoned.)

• When resolving the effect that returns 1 monster the opponent controls to the hand, if control of the targeted monster was changed to you, the effect is not applied.
