Q&A Rulings
- Q: An "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that was Special Summoned by a Pendulum Summon was changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of "Book of Moon". Later, that "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" was Flip Summoned, and inflicted battle damage to the opponent while attacking during the Battle Phase. In this case, can its monster effect of being a Pendulum Summoned card that inflicted battle damage to your opponent be activated?
- A: If an "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that was Pendulum Summoned is changed to face-down Defense Position, even if it's later returned to being face-up, that monster is no longer treated as being Special Summoned by a Pendulum Summon. Therefore, the monster effect of being a Pendulum Summoned card that inflicted battle damage to your opponent cannot be activated.[1]
- Q: An "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that was Special Summoned by a Pendulum Summoned was banished until the End Phase by the effect of "Interdimensional Matter Transporter". Later, if the "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that returned to the field attacks and inflicts battle damage to the opponent, can its monster effect of being a Pendulum Summoned card that inflicted battle damage to your opponent be activated?
- A: If an "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that was Pendulum Summoned was banished by the effect of "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", that "Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon" that returned to the field is treated as being Special Summoned by a Pendulum Summon, just like before it was banished. Therefore, the monster effect of being a Pendulum Summoned card that inflicted battle damage to your opponent can be activated.[2]
