TCG Rulings
- You can equip this card to a Gemini monster that has already gained its effect.[1]
- The effect to Special Summon 1 Normal Monster in your Graveyard targets. It starts a Chain.[1]
- If “Mystical Space Typhoon” is Chained to the activation of “Supervise” to destroy it, the effect to Special Summon 1 Normal Monster will still be activated.[1]
- If “Supervise” is sent to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, the effect to Special Summon 1 Normal Monster still activates.[1]
- You can equip “Supervise” to a Gemini monster while “Skill Drain” is face-up on the field.[1]
- If you send a monster equipped with “Supervise” to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster for “Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier,” the effect to Special Summon 1 Normal Monster will activate immediately after Brionac is Summoned. You will not be able to activate Brionac’s effect until the Chain resolves.[1]
- If you send a monster equipped with “Supervise” to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster for “Black Rose Dragon” you can activate the effect of that Synchro Monster in a Chain with the effect of “Supervise.” The mandatory effect of “Supervise” will be Chain Link 1.[1]
- You cannot equip “Supervise” to “Neo-Spacian Dark Panther” even if it copies the name and effect of a Gemini monster.[1]
- A Gemini monster that is being treated as an Effect Monster due to “Supervise” returns to being treated as a Normal Monster when “Supervise” is removed from the field.[1]
- If the equipped monster and “Supervise” are destroyed at the same time, you can use the effect of “Supervise” to Special Summon the monster it was equipped to.[1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Evocator Chevalier: If the effect of “Evocator Chevalier” is active due to “Supervise” and you send “Supervise” to the Graveyard as a cost to activate the effect of “Evocator Chevalier,” you still destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
Out of Date
- If “Supervise” is Special Summoned by “Magical Hats” and is attacked and destroyed by battle, the effect to Special Summon 1 Normal Monster will not activate.[1][Notes 1]
OCG Rulings
- "Supervise" can also be equipped to a Gemini Monster which already has its effect.[2][3]
- The effect of "Supervise" which Special Summons a monster targets one Normal Monster in your Graveyard.[2][4]
- If "Dark Valkyria" is treated as an Effect Monster due to the effect of a card like "Supervise" or "Superalloy Beast Raptinus" and has a Spell Counter, then when "Superalloy Beast Raptinus" is removed from the field, the Spell Counter is removed because "Dark Valkyria" is now treated as a Normal Monster. If "Dark Valkyria" becomes an Effect Monster again afterwards, its effect can be used once more.[5]
- If "Supervise" is activated and a card like "Mystical Space Typhoon" is chained so that "Supervise" is destroyed before it is equipped to the monster, then the monster is not treated as being Normal Summoned a second time. However, the other effect of "Supervise" will still activate after the current Chain resolves, and you can Special Summon a Normal Monster from your Graveyard.[6]
- If "Supervise" is sent from the field to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, then its effect will activate and will Special Summon a Normal Monster.[7]
- When "Supervise" is Special Summoned by "Magical Hats", if it is attacked while face-down and destroyed by battle, then its effect to Special Summon a Normal Monster from the Graveyard will activate.[8]
- If "Skill Drain" is negating the effect of a Gemini Monster which has not been Normal Summoned a second time, then the Gemini Monster may be equipped with "Supervise". The Gemini Monster will be treated as if it was Normal Summoned a second time, but the effect will be negated by "Skill Drain". If "Skill Drain" is removed from the field, then you can apply the effect of the Gemini Monster.[9]
- If "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" copies a Gemini Monster, then "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" is not treated as a Gemini Monster, even though it has the effect of one. Thus, you cannot equip "Supervise" to a "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" which has the effect of a Gemini Monster.[10]
- If a Gemini Monster which is equipped with "Supervise" is used as a Synchro Material Monster for a Synchro Summon, then the mandatory effect of "Supervise" activates as soon as the Synchro Summon is successful.[11]
- If "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" is Synchro Summoned, then you cannot activate the Ignition Effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" before the effect of "Supervise" activates. Also, you cannot activate the effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" in chain to the effect of "Supervise".[11]
- If "Mist Wurm" is Syncho Summoned, then the mandatory Trigger Effect of "Mist Wurm" and the effect of "Supervise" both activate, and will form a chain in the order chosen by the player.[11]
- If "Black Rose Dragon" is Synchro Summoned, then the optional effect of "Black Rose Dragon" can activate in addition to the effect of "Supervise". The mandatory effect of "Supervise" will be Chain Link 1, and then the optional effect of "Black Rose Dragon" can be activated as Chain Link 2.[11]
- When "Supervise" is sent to the Graveyard, its effect to Special Summon a Normal Monster activates and starts a Chain.[4]
- If a Gemini Monster gained its "●" by being equipped with "Supervise", then when "Supervise" is removed from the field, the "●" effect of the monster is no longer applied.[12]
- If "Evocator Chevalier" gains its effect by being equipped with "Supervise", then you can activate the effect of "Evocator Chevalier" by sending "Supervise" to the Graveyard. The effect of "Evocator Chevalier" will resolve and will destroy the opponent's card.[13]
- If "Supervise" and the equipped Gemini Monster are destroyed simultaneously, then you can use the effect of "Supervise" to Special Summon the previously-equipped Gemini Monster.[14]
Notes
- ↑ The latest print of "Supervise" has Problem-Solving Card Text which states that its effect is activated if it is sent from the field to the Graveyard while face-up.
