[Regarding the effect "If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each Fusion Material used for its Summon."][1]
- It is a Trigger Effect that can be activated in the Monster Zone.
[Regarding the effect "Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, also you take no battle damage from battles involving this card."][1]
- It is a Continuous Effect that is applied in the Monster Zone.
[Regarding the effect "At the end of the Damage Step, if this card battled an opponent's monster: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to that opponent's monster's ATK, and if you do, banish that monster."][1]
- It is a Trigger Effect.
- It activates in the Monster Zone if this card is not destroyed by battle. It activates in the Graveyard if this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. It activates while banished if this card is destroyed by battle and banished face-up.
- It activates mandatorily if its activation condition is met.
- At resolution, apply "Inflict damage to your opponent equal to that opponent's monster's ATK". If you inflicted damage successfully, apply "banish that monster".
- Inflicting damage to your opponent and banishing happen at the same time.
Q&A Rulings
- Q: While the effect of "Nightmare Pain" is being applied, if my Attack Position "Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever" battles my opponent's Attack Position "Geistgrinder Golem", what happens during damage calculation?
- A: During damage calculation, first, the effect "Your opponent gains 3000 LP" of "Geistgrinder Golem" activates and resolves. After that, damage calculation is performed.
When multiple effects related to damage calculation are applied, the damage is determined by considering the effects in the following order.
- Inflict double battle damage
- Both players take battle damage
- Battle damage you take is also inflicted to your opponent, you/your opponent takes battle damage instead
- Battle damage is treated as effect damage
- Gain LP equal to the battle damage instead
- Battle damage becomes 0
- Battle damage becomes halved
- Battle damage becomes doubled
- Battle damage becomes a fixed value
- Do not take battle damage that is more/less than or equal to a fixed value
- In the above list, the effect "Your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles involving your "Yubel" monsters instead" of "Nightmare Pain" is 3 and the effect "you take no battle damage from battles involving this card" of "Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever" is 6. Therefore, the 3000 damage you would have taken is inflicted to your opponent instead.[2]
