- This card can be searched by "Hieratic Dragon King of Atum", "Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres", "Starliege Seyfert", "Bystial Magnamhut", "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms", "Dragunity Knight - Gae Dearg", "Dragonic Guard", "Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation", "Draconnection", "Creeping Darkness", "Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy", "Dark General Freed", "Chaos Zone", "Summoner Monk", "Primathmech Alembertian", "Battle Royal Mode - Joining", "Vampire Dragon", "Resonator Engine", "Soul Rope", "Rescue Ferret", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- If your deck is built to be capable of Xyz Summoning Rank 1 Monsters, using this card in conjunction with "Mira the Star-Bearer". The effect of Mira will allow you to continuously use Infernal Dragon to attack and not constantly require a monster to tribute and revive it from your Graveyard, giving you a powerful DARK Dragon-Type 2000 ATK Beatstick with no negative effects or difficult Summoning requirements.
- This card can be Special Summoned with "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" next turn after it attacks.
- You can keep this card on the field with "Skill Drain" even if it already attacked.
- This card works well on a Hieratic deck.
- Use cards that summon Monster Tokens to summon this card with ease.
- "Infernal Dragon" is an easy to summon monster that can be tributed for "Deck Devastation Virus".
- "Infernal Dragon" can be brought back by the use of "Black Ptera" or "Samsara Lotus".
- Use "DNA Surgery" to change "Infernal Dragon" to a Machine-Type and then use "Limiter Removal" to increase it's attack to 4000. Since "Infernal Dragon's" own effect sends it to the Graveyard during the end phase, you won't have to worry about "Limiter Removal" destroying "Infernal Dragon".
- After attacking with this card, Tribute it to summon another monster during your Main Phase 2 before "Infernal Dragon's" own effect destroys it.
- Use "Double Attack" to let "Infernal Dragon" attack twice before it's own effect destroys itself.
- This card can work well in a "Strike Ninja" Deck. You need a Strike Ninja on the field and two "D.D. Scout Planes" or "D.D. Survivor" in the Graveyard. Every turn you can remove the "Scout Planes" with "Strike Ninja's" effect and use them as a Tributes for "Infernal Dragon's" effect. "Infernal Dragon" also helps get rid of useless "Scout Planes" and puts them in the Graveyard for "Strike Ninja".
- This card could work well in a Hopeless Dragon deck.
- This card can easily summon any of the Meklords

- This card also combos nicely with "Card of Safe Return", allowing a draw every time it is brought back.
