Card Tips:Skill Drain
- This card can be searched by "Pharaonic Advent", "The Despair Uranus", and other generic searchers.
- This card can be used in Decks such as:
- "Eldlich", as the main monster only activates effects in the hand or Graveyard.
- Bushi Decks; many of their most common monsters, such as "Exiled Force", "Fire Trooper" and "The Immortal Bushi" are not affected by "Skill Drain".
- "Dark World"; most of their monsters' effects activate in the Graveyard.
- "Phantasm Spiral", since the Deck only plays Normal monsters.
- If you also control "Tyrant's Temper", your own Monsters will be able to use your effects, while the effects of your opponent's Monsters will be negated.
- If your opponent uses extremely powerful monsters whose ATK are determined by their effect, this card will render them useless with 0 ATK. This is especially handy to counter monsters with ludicrously high ATK, such as "Chimeratech Overdragon", "Evil Hero Dark Gaia", "Armityle the Chaos Phantasm" and "King of the Skull Servants", or monsters whose effects are reliant on their ATK stat, such as Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess, who must have at least 800 ATK to activate its effect.
- Combine this with "Tyrant's Tirade" to block activations of effects on the field, as well as those in the hand, giving an almost total lockdown on all effects.
