- This monster is based on the White Rabbit from the Japanese legend of "the Hare of Inaba." In the tale, a hare stripped of its skin asks Ōkuninushi, the god of farming and medicine, for aid. When he successfully restores the hare's fur by having it roll in white cattails, it reveals its true form as a deity and prophecies that Ōkuninushi will win the heart of the princess Yagami.
