  • This card is based on the Sun, the central star of the Solar System.
    • Despite the Sun being a source of light and life, this card is a DARK Fiend monster, while the background of its artwork depicts a solar eclipse.
      • In the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga, this card was used by the central antagonist, Tragoedia, the ka of an Ancient Egyptian astrologer, created out of his hatred towards them because of the court of Pharaoh Akhenamkhanen's involvement in the massacre of his home village of Kul Elna. It was created by Tragoedia (while possessing Mr. Phoenix) out of spite for the High Priests who worshipped the sun and sealed him away in his tablet, reflecting its stats and this monster's dark color scheme.
    • This card's effects reference the daily cycle of the sun, where it sets and disappears from the horizon (reflected by its effect activating when it is destroyed) but will eventually arise and appear on the next day (reflected by its effect to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard during the next Standby Phase). This is further explained and illustrated in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga.
  • This card shares similarities with "Tragoedia", the Monster Card form of the main antagonist of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga.
    • Both cards are Level 10 DARK Fiend monsters.
    • Both cards share an effect that Special Summons itself.
    • Both cards share an effect that allows the player to discard for a cost.
