Cosplay
Cosplay, short for costume roleplay, as an act common to anime, manga and video game fandoms, where fans dress themselves as characters.
The V Jump magazine features a parody of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, called Yu-Gi-Oh! 5C's, which features group of people cosplaying as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's characters. It has also featured cosplay of characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, some of which include Reginald Kastle and Bronk Stone.
Throughout the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, characters have dressed as Duel Monsters' characters.
- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, although not strictly cosplay, Yami Bakura trapped Yugi and his friends in their Duel Monsters cards.
- During a dream, Téa was called on stage by the Dark Magician Girl and dressed as her.
- In Kaiba Land U.S.A., several employees dressed as monsters
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! GX:
- on Duel Monsters Spirit Day, people dressed as Duel Monsters for a festival.
- during episode 161's party several students dressed up as monsters.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2009: Stardust Accelerator, characters dressed as Dark Magician sell the player Duel Runner parts, while characters dressed as Dark Magician Girl sell them Booster Packs.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D Bonds Beyond Time, during the event in Yugi's time, several characters were dressed as Harpie Ladies and Magician's Valkyrias.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, students of Heartland Academy dress up as various monsters during a fun fair.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!!, several characters end up cosplaying as "Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan" for different reasons over the course of the series. In particular, Yuamu Ohdo's instance was used as the card's third artwork.
