If I special summon Tyrant Dragon from the graveyard face down, do I still have to sacrifice a dragon....
- If it's face-down i.e. using The Shallow Grave, no, because monster effects like that are only active if the card is face-up.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:24, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- The Japanese ruling is that the Tribute is still required. This is because the effect "activates" before it is Special Summoned, so it's not face-down on the field yet. --Deus Ex Machina 11:08, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
