If the Flip Effect Monster are face-down on the field, and it Tribute for a Summon, the Flip activate?

If you Tribute face-down cards, they are never flipped up, and they are not activated. However, if you want to activate the effect, and still be able to tribute it, Flip Summon it.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 09:42, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Flip Effect Vs. Trigger Effect

From the last message left on the discussion board, for example, Guardian Statue's effect is different than Morphing Jar? Guardian Statue is known to have a trigger effect while Morphing Jar is known to have a flip effect?— This unsigned comment was made by Cchiu56 (talk • contribs)

"Guardian Statue" only work by Manual Flip Summon, not force to flipping by effect or attacked. While Morphing Jar has "FLIP:" at start of it lore, therefore make them different from each other.
