Other Cards[edit]

When Jaden Yuki duels "X" with his 2nd Deck/Neos deck the following cards are seen in his deck, but are not played.

  • Blue Flame Swordsman
  • Big Wave Small Wave
  • Confiscation
  • Card Destruction

These cards have been added to his 2nd deck list.--HerrRodney 04:17, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I have scanned the JP episode thoroughly and have concluded that these cards are not in his deck (the original episodes rarely have this kind of mistake.) Since I haven't seen the 4Kids version, I'm going to add the 'only in dubs' message on the end of each of these cards. If they are in the jp episode and I have somehow missed them, then please point them out, thanks. 82.45.227.223 19:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

New picture[edit]

  • Isn't this new picture of Jaden a little bit of a spoiler? Danny Lilithborne 00:16, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
    • It is kind of a spoiler but it's "updated" which is probably more important. Dmaster 21:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
      • Pretty sure it seems better now. Nothing special, just better. Gloqwi 01:28, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Name pun[edit]

Isn't Jaden's name supposed to be a pun? — This unsigned comment was made by Omegalink (talkcontribs) 17:03, November 11, 2007

Yes, but only in Japanese.

「遊城 十代」 (Yūki Jūdai) = Courageous Teenager; however, the Kanji for "courage" is 「勇気」 (Yūki). This Kanji literally reads off as 「遊城」 (Yūshiro), which means something nonsensical, like, "Game Castle." But, if you take a closer look…

The 「遊」 () is the same as the one in 「遊戯」 (Yūgi).
The 「城」 (shiro) is the 城 from 「城之内」 (Jōnouchi).

So, just like in the original Yu-Gi-Oh!, the pun is on 「友情」 (Yūjō) = Friendship. And, the fact that Jaden's character seems to be a fusion of Yugi's luck of the draw, and Joey's outgoing attitude. 209.151.140.173 07:53, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Little Jaden's Deck[edit]

  • why do we have two Little Jaden's Deck's with the same name? Dmaster 18:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Slight Contradiction[edit]

He then sends "Elemental Hero Neos" to attack "Slifer The Sky Dragon" and the duel comes to an abrupt end (although it is ambiguous to the viewer on who actually won) with Jaden, Atem and Yugi all smiling.

Slifer's attack is 5000 and Neos is 2500. This would conclude that stating Neos attacks Slifer is equal to a forfeit, but the sentence finishes by claiming it is still ambiguous as to who wins. This would need to be explained to stay in, or remodeled to make logical sense.

Side note: With Yugi's hand advantage and God draw effect, he had a nil chance of losing. *Dislikes Judai in contrast to Yugi. Actually, I never really liked GX at all, but w/e. Pointing out the error anyway. — This unsigned comment was made by 67.9.10.128 (talkcontribs) 08:29, July 12, 2008

I agree, but that's the weird thing about wikis. "Even though it's glaringly obvious that's what happened, we still can't say it because it wasn't explicitly show." — This unsigned comment was made by 69.3.65.135 (talkcontribs) 04:39, July 14, 2008
Well, who knows? Jaden could've activated some random card that we couldn't have seen. It may seem stupid, but it's possible to an extent he could've stalled for a lot longer, and as LittleKuriboh would've put it, "Oh no! The animation budget ran out!". — This unsigned comment was made by 72.80.5.126 (talkcontribs) 04:29, January 4, 2010
hey guys, um yu are wrong. jaden DID have a facedown/set msagic card... it could have been anything: maybe even a card like rainbow life or something... plus sliffer was Special Summoned via yugi's trap card on jaden's turn meaning sliffer would be sent back to the grave on yugi's turn before he could even use him to attack... the duel could have countinued. — This unsigned comment was made by 24.103.114.114 (talkcontribs) 15:53, January 15, 2011

favorites?[edit]

where did it state his favortie food/sandwiches?? andywheeler

Favourite/Least favourite sandwiches are from the Tag Force video games. Favourite/Least favorite food in general seems to be a load of bull for all the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX characters. Some of the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters favourite and least favourite foods were given in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Characters Guide - The Gospel of Truth. I don't know of any such record of GX characters fav and least fav food. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:08, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Judai's favourite food is fried shrimp. He goes on about it through out the entire series. Hayato likes Hamburgers. — This unsigned comment was made by 86.142.175.22 (talkcontribs) 21:22, June 18, 2011

Future Vision and God Neos[edit]

Neither card seems to be in any of Judai's Decklists. Why is this? Also, the former doesn't seem to be on this Wiki at all! The only cards listed as 'Future Vision' are Saiou's Normal Spell and Carly's Field Spell. In actuality there are three. 92.11.238.109 14:37, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

"Future Vision" is listed as "Vision of the Future". If its not an accurate translation, I dunno why it still uses that name. "Elemental Hero God Neos" uses its English version name "Elemental Hero Divine Neos"... which wasn't moved to its new alphabetical position in his Decklist, after its name was changed. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:04, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

His Neo-Spacians deck[edit]

Wouldn't it be better to split the decks up into the different arcs like Yugi's? Toob 03:20, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

  • That sounds like a pretty good idea. --Bluedog (Talk) 03:40, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Voice actor[edit]

Turns out the English voice actor for Jaden is Matthew Laborteaux , best known for playing Albert Quinn Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. His full name is Matthew Charles Labyorteaux, but he shortened it for his Yu-Gi-Oh! GX credit. This has been confirmed by other voice actors. For further proof, here is an audiobook demo of his. There is no mistaking the voice: http://www.audible.com/pd/ref=sr_1_1?asin=B002VA9G3Y&qid=1320530283&sr=1-1

For the sake of recognition, he is still listed on this page as Matthew Charles, but clicking his name will redirect to the Matthew Laborteaux wikipedia page. As for why his credit as Jaden is missing on that page, one of the editors refuses to accept it until they hear from a more reliable source, despite my evidence. (ItachiIshtar (talkcontribs) 03:45, November 9, 2011 (UTC))

Jaden's English voice actors seems to go by a multitude of names. Shouldn't we use the one he's most known by in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom or the one he's credited as? That would be Matthew Charles in both cases. Currently I think we're just going by the name Wikipedia uses as his pagename. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:28, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Wait! TV.com says that Pete Capella does Jaden. And Jaden does sound like Silver from the Sonic seris. — This unsigned comment was made by 98.111.95.197 (talkcontribs) 06:17, March 13, 2010

Just pointing out that the link to the article of Wikipedia regarding the voice actor Christopher Kromer is broken. The afore-mentioned page has been deleted. The reason for deletion given is as following: "I can't find any evidence that this individual meets the notability requirements. He's only had bit parts and voice-overs, he's not there yet.". --Montechristo95 23:07, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

In that case, we just remove the Wikipedia links from that actor's name. I'd still say we should use "Matthew Charles", since that's what (I think) he's credited as in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:22, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
Umm..can't you do this yourself? Well anyway, the article for the dude you mentioned has been deleted as well. Tough luck, huh? I just removed that "english voice" section completely. --Montechristo95 09:36, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

10th Anniversary Movie[edit]

Doesn't Jaden's involvement with the 10th Anniversary take place after Season 4? If this is off topic, can someone move it to the 10th Anniversary Movie page? 72.80.5.126 04:20, January 4, 2010 (UTC) User

Relationship[edit]

Relationship: alexis rhodes: they met at the first day, alexis has been fond of him since the day seh first got beaten by him.At episode 169, she was trying to admit that she loves and cares about him,but decides not to tell yet, when after jaden says gotcha and she was imagining him with the old smile (first season one) neverless they are great friends that help each other out. Syrus truesdale at the first episode, they were instantly friends and automatic best friends. syrus gradually becomes unfond of him due to the episode where zane "lends" him his cyberdark deck never less they are great friends who help each other often WINGED KURIBOH: at the start, yami lends him a card which turns out to be a winged kuriboh, later with a duel with chazz, he was winking and talking to him, which proves that he is his spirit partner. — This unsigned comment was made by 118.137.107.128 (talkcontribs) 13:11, October 11, 2010

Relatives[edit]

Can someone add his unnamed parents? They were mentioned in Episode 131 by Chancellor Sheppard. --Aged Goblin (talkcontribs) 16:20, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Added, thanks for catching. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:58, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
Maybe we should add The Supreme King like his past incarnation or evil side. --Aged Goblin (talkcontribs) 22:20, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, not sure. To me, a past incarnate isn't a relative. The Supreme King wasn't Jaden's great-great-great x10 grandfather. Not saying that it definitely shouldn't be listed, but I think some discussion would be good. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:52, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Spirit Partner[edit]

I may be wrong, but I think Yubel was his (first) spirit partner too (or some kind of that). In episodes 130 and 131 it is revealed that they had pretty strong connection during his childhood (Jaden could see her and they communicated with each other, and Yubel could feel his pain). That's because they were close friends in their past lives, and also Yubel was his later guardian (some kind of spirit partner). --Aged Goblin (talkcontribs) 18:00, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Anime Deck[edit]

Jaden also used Ojama cards during two episodes. --109.92.196.142 (talk) 20:49, February 20, 2011 (UTC)

Nicknames[edit]

Can someome add the following nicknames in the article.

  • Aniki (Big Brother)
  • Jay (dub only)
  • Ichiban (Nubmer 1)
  • Dropout Boy
  • Slifer Slacker (dub only)

--109.93.24.251 (talk) 02:22, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Who called him Yukey? GoldRat56 (talkcontribs) 19:11, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

Abilities[edit]

He can see duel monster spirits, hear them, and understand them. He is immune to the Light of Destruction power. There is more, I just forgot. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 03:25, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

The Supreme King (Darkness of Justice), some Yubel's powers, miracle draws... --Aged Goblin (talkcontribs) 17:00, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Relative?[edit]

I'm not sure about the following, but is may be true. Judai calls Osamu "onisan" ("big brother"), a term which is used by refering to someone who is your relative. Does it mean that Osamu is his elder brother? I remember that he was refered as Judai's friend by Sheppard. --178.223.148.166 (talk) 00:52, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Sho also called him that name often, almost often to absorb him for "second" brother, beside Ryo - his real brother. --FredCat 00:55, June 29, 2011 (UTC)
Well, Sho called him "aniki" which is a different way of saying "big brother". I think that "onisan" is just a more respectful way of saying it. Sho called Ryo "nii-san" and Judai "aniki". This still causes confusion.
But no, there's no evidence to suggest that Judai is biologically related to Osamu. Samejima calls him a friend of Judai's in both the dub and the original Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:18, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Partner[edit]

The above section in the character template has been recently expanded. It originaly listed only Spirit Partners, but now Duel Partners too. In current state it looks confusing. Those two types of partners should be separated in that template, and not to be listed in the single section. --Aged Goblin (talkcontribs) 17:00, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Judai Yuki's Age?[edit]

I just noticed that this article lacked his age... Ryo have one, [20 (17 in debut)]. So how can we tell Yuki's age? --FredCat 19:08, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

Informbox Image[edit]

Since Anzu (Tea) got her image back to normal, from the first appearance as well as Z-one was been discussing to keep his normal, first appearance image in his own profile. So why not this article do the same? It seemed little unfairly that all other are in their "old" look while this one has "new" look (Judai's look in 4th season, instead of his first appearance). --FredCat 22:13, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

Tea's image was reverted because the newest one is horrible. Of Jaden's pictures, the current could be improved, but the alternatives are pretty bad. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 22:17, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Then explain why Z-one didn't have his mug showing in Informbox? It's still caged up last time I checked. --FredCat 22:24, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
That one could go either way, really. The current is what fans would be most familiar with, but the other is fine as well. I don't have a preference in that case, as I do here. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 22:28, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
That's not really good suggestive... And we don't usually going with fan's opinion... Look at Yugi's image for explain - it was from guy's artwork himself, while Yusei still had his image with "Stardust Dragon" posted. In my opinion; they all should be set with first image or latest image, at same time, not various. If you rejected my point; then this is just pathetic because it's all over the directions. If Z-one's image was suggesting to stay old way, then Judai and Yugi should regaining their "old" looks and stay that way instead of using new one that don't fitting the kind of group. And that's my cup of tea. --FredCat 23:47, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Well then find an image you think fits better than this one, link us to it, and if people think it looks good enough, upload it. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:40, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Mistake in edit reason[edit]

Before Fred comes in, this is the page I'm talking about; it didn't show up when I typed in my edit reason. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 21:44, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

UPDATE PICTURE[edit]

Anyone propose to changing the current picture to this one? This one has a better capture of Jaden and also shows him doing his signature pose. File:JadenYuki.png--{{SUBST:User:RafealxPhoenix/sig2}} 22:48, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

Seems fine to me. Renaming it though.
Also, it'd be appreciated if you could tell us which episode you got the image from. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 22:56, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

Of course. Episode 168 "Opening of Graduation Duel! Neos vs. Black Flame Dragon of Horus".--{{SUBST:User:RafealxPhoenix/sig2}} 00:17, December 12, 2015 (UTC)
