Mistakes Section[edit]

  • Solved:
Loki can't negate Zero Force because Loki can only negate cards when it attacks.
  • Not Solved:
Yusei skipped his Draw Phase and just declared a direct attack with "Shooting Star Dragon", during the final phase of the battle.
Harald could have used "Polar God King Thor's" effect to negate "Shooting Star Dragon's" effect.
Here's some of my thoughts
They probably skipped the Draw Phase because it wasn't necessary to what he did during the duel. It'll be a waste of time to show every step each time, so they implied that he did have a draw phase.
Would it be possible that Polar God King Thor's effect is worded so that it is similar to Skill Drain's effect? That would explain why Harald didn't use Thor's effect to negate Stardust Phantom (activates in graveyard) and Shooting Star Dragon (first effect would have been useless, second effect is also useless since Yusei didn't use any destruction effects, third effect he removes himself as cost). -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 03:25, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • If he used Thor's effect, he would still be able to chain Shooting Star Dragon, because in the anime, his effect can activate in the opponent's Main Phase, like what he did with Placido, Harald will miss the target and Yusei will activate Zero Force. Harald can negate Zero Force with Odin, but he was so paranoid he used Eye of Odin first and why is every effect a Spell Speed 2 effect? How can he tribute Tyr in chain to Eye of Odin? Anyway, Yusei chained Trick Mirror to Tyr, with which he negated Odin's effect (if he tributed Tyr before Eye of Odin, Harald would've won) and Tyr's effect wasn't in use, because Odin's effect was negated before he tributed him. Also, Stardust Phantom's effect can be activated to remove him from the Graveyard during the opponent's turn and Burning Reborn's second effect during the Battle Phase, which isn't possible with the wording. But what about when Brave used Thor's effect on Red Nova Dragon? Did it not have the same attack-negation effect? So why didn't Jack use it?PoirotH (talkcontribs) 03:44, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

For Red Nova Dragon, there's an OCG ruling that says "Removing from play "Red Nova Dragon" for its attack-negating effect is done when resolving the effect; it is not a cost." That would explain why it won't work there, assuming the anime effect was the same. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 03:49, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't that also apply to SSD, since they are spelled word-for-word the same, and it has no ruling stating otherwise?PoirotH (talkcontribs) 03:53, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • Actually yes he could've chained Red Nova because he can activate it during his opponent's turn (if it is the same as Shooting Star Dragon), and why didn't Thor gain his effects? Master D (talkcontribs) 07:39, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
I can't exactly read Japanese, but the current translations on the page has SSD as "you can remove from play this card to negate the attack." and RDN "you can remove from play this card and negate the attack." for the OCG/TCG card.
As for the anime cards, assuming I'm looking at the right lines, they don't seem to be the same.
相手ターンに1度、このカードはゲームから除外する事ができる。この効果を使用したターン、相手モンスター1体の攻撃を無効にする事ができる。この効果で除外したこのカードは、そのターンのエンドフェイズ時に自分フィールド上に戻る。 (RND)
相手ターンに1度、このカードをゲームから除外する事で、相手モンスター1体の攻撃を無効にする事ができる。この効果を発動するために除外したこのカードは、この効果を適用したターンのエンドフェイズ時に自分フィールド上に戻る。 (SSD) -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:14, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure you should be looking at their anime effects and not their real life effects? Cause I copy+pasted both texts from RND and SSD and they look the same to me.And in the anime, they always change effects to follow their real-life counterparts.PoirotH (talkcontribs) 05:12, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Both were copied from the 'Japanese Anime:' section on the RND and SSD. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 05:22, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Anyway, I don't think it matters. The writers would've twisted its rulings anyway to make it convenient for the protagonist. In my opinion, the entire duel was botched up.PoirotH (talkcontribs) 05:34, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Trick Mirror[edit]

How did trick mirror negate the God's effects when Tyr prevented it?Cloudtheavenger (talkcontribs) 21:07, July 24, 2015 (UTC)

Trick Mirror was chained to Tyr, and thus it resolved before it. Therefore, the effects of the Aesir were negated before Tyr could prevent it. Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 22:18, July 24, 2015 (UTC)
