Season 3?[edit]

Should we assume that this episode is the start of season 3? Season 1 had sixty four episodes and two opening and ending themes. Now that the music has changed again, episodes 65 to 129 is sixty five episodes and has two opening and ending themes. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:53, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. I mean, the antagonists are still the same, the WRGP is still going on, and it's even the final match. I say we wait until the New World vs 5D's match is over.PoirotH (talkcontribs) 16:01, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
This is actually the start of Season 5. 201.66.166.125 (talk) 17:41, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
@the above IP : No, it's Season 3, not 5. Change of OP/ED doesn't always means it's a new season, especially if the song changes in the middle of an arc. There are various other anime that has more than one OP theme, yet all the episodes are still considered a season anyway. Order (talkcontribs) 03:13, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
I'll have to disagree. In Yu-Gi-Oh! the Seasons were always determined by the Opening/Ending themes. It is only now with 5D's that people begun to come up with this stupidity. Come on, look at the size of this "Season" with 3 different OP/ED themes. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to be rude, but I think that it doesn't matter what janime or anyone else says about it, we should use logic and follow the patterns of Yu-Gi-Oh!. 201.66.169.63 (talk) 00:23, October 13, 2010 (UTC)
I've never seen Yu-Gi-Oh!'s seasons being dictated purely by when the opening and ending themes change. This "stupidity" certainly did not start with Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters had five openings and endings and five seasons. The changes didn't correspond to each season though.
  • The first change happened three quarters of the way through the Dungeon Dice Monsters arc.
  • The second change happened two thirds of the way through the first part of Battle City.
  • The third change happened near the end of Battle City, half way through Yugi and Kaiba's Duel.
  • The fourth change happened one third of the way through the Grand Championship arc.
Assuming they're when the seasons started and ended:
  • Season 1 is Duelist Kingdom, Legendary Heroes, Rebecca and three quarters of DDM
  • Season 2 is the last quarter of DDM and two thirds of the first part of Battle City
  • Season 3 is the last third of the first part of Battle City, all of Virtual World and most of the Battle City finals up to the middle of a Duel.
  • Season 4 is the last bit of the Battle City finals, all of Waking the Dragons and one third of the Grand Championship.
  • Season 5 is the last two thirds of the Grand Championship and all of Dawn of the Duel.
I doubt that is how the seasons are split.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX had six openings and four endings for allegedly four seasons. I haven't heard anyone say that GX has six seasons, except for checking Google just there and finding three results. The four seasons don't correspond to the four endings either.
Anyway, the 4Kids website has indexed the Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's seasons the same way we have. We can't tell which season this is in because 4Kids haven't went that far. Yes, they don't make the series, they just dub it, but they're still official. I haven't seen any official sources say the seasons are split any other way. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:09, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
I think that it is still Season 2 and Season 2 goes on to or through Episode 135.Altyrell (talkcontribs) 03:19, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

This still maybe season 2. Nevertheless have to pay attention after episode 137, as according to the preview, the WRGP officially ends and the arc too, wouldnt it? DracoX (talkcontribs) 02:07, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Then that's when we will move on into the world destruction battle, against Infinity Team. --FredCat Ta.P.F.P.J.R.W.S.Th.P.S.C. 12:01, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
