About Me[edit]

Hello! My name is John and I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! ever since I was 6 or 7, although I haven't continuously played it up to this point in time. I dropped the game around 2009 or 2010 and picked the game back up around 2014 with the release of Millennium Duels, then continued to play through YGOPRO (Percypro). I tend to play decks far from the meta, yet still viable at this time.

Favorite Decks/Archetypes[edit]

This probably isn't necessary but would like to include this anyways.

  1. Chronomaly/OOPArts - Ever since I got back into YGO, I've always liked this archetype. As a bit of a fan of ancient history, I really enjoy the style of the archetype, as well as the artifacts they chose to incorporate into it. Crystal Skull and Crystal Bones are the two that I really enjoy the most, although Cabrera's Trebuchet/Catapult also has a very unique design that I find fascinating. The mechanics are also very enjoyable to me, and I have fun getting out Moai for the Xyz Monsters. The versatility that Chronomaly brings with Xyz Monsters (Ranks 3-6, 7 if you choose to include Chaos Atlandis, although you'll most likely never summon it without using a Rank-Up-Magic) is very useful, and with it, you can run very useful Xyz Monsters that will help you with your victory.
  2. Gimmick Puppet - Gimmick Puppets are also another deck I took interest in when I picked the game back up. The eerie and creepy theme of the deck is something I found appealing. The deck itself can get quite clogged, and I assure you that in today's meta, you're not likely to achieve the win condition of Leo or Disaster Leo, but if you take pleasure in sinister-looking puppets or dolls, I believe that you'll find yourself enjoying this deck like I have.
  3. Toon - Seeing as this is another group of dastardly-looking monsters, I couldn't help myself to be drawn to them. Even as a kid, I'd wish that I'd be able to acquire some of these cards (I never did, sadly). The design is just so captivating for me. Not only that, but with the support released since then, they can hold their own against some of the more modern deck types. Being able to attack directly while keeping card advantage is something I find incredibly useful. Toons are just a fun and viable deck that I take great pleasure in.

There are others that I'd like to go into more detail about, but I'll expand on them in the future.
