True, I agree it shouldn't be in there. Sorry if you missed me, been a tad busy the last couple of days ^^.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 18:54, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Yugi cleanup?

  • I noticed you did a cleanup on the Yugi article. I put back what i thought should remain but I was wondering why did you cleanup the page? --Yuge 23:36, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
  • No i just didnt have anything to talk about is all. Maybe i should make a separate part of that page for notes? --Dark Yugi 00:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Why should they be avoided? --Dark Yugi 00:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
  • But wikipedia has em all over the place notes and trivia sections. --Dark Yugi 00:28, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Dark Revelation/Expert Edition

Just a clarification on what needs to be done

Basically, we're migrating the set names to better match their actual name, rather than just an informal short version as before, hence these are the conversions:

  • Dark Revelation 1 -> Dark Revelation Volume 1
  • Dark Revelation 2 -> Dark Revelation Volume 2
  • Dark Revelation 3 -> Dark Revelation Volume 3
  • Expert Edition 1 -> Expert Edition Volume.1
  • Expert Edition 2 -> Expert Edition Volume.2
  • Expert Edition 3 -> Expert Edition Volume.3

Notice that the Japanese all have a period (.) between Volume and the number. I am considering whether to apply the same to the Volume/Booster series, since most seem to reference them with a period.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 00:54, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Rubbing, rubbing...

You rub off me, hun. ;D (Now I just have to abuse the holy hell out of Evil Yugi for their passive-agressive-ness.) -- Huajun Chen 15:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh but it's not nice to talk behind other people's backs, so... -le flee- -- Huajun Chen 15:54, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Jesse Anderson

It isn't. But I left it be because there's more than one way to spell Anderson. BTW... DUEL BOX 9 SCANS HAVE BEEN RELEASED BY TOGEPI! Atticus has the sultriest look *ever*. Alexis looks 25. -- Huajun Chen 23:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Always with the Michael Jackson cracks. Leave me and my nonsensical descriptions of nonsense alone. -- Huajun Chen 23:18, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Decklists

Boy, am I a n00b. But I can't find the "Show" button. Could you please tell me? Goldenbear, 10.59 Sat Jun 22 2007

  • Yes, thank you. It's just so tiny, the print saying "Show". Goldenbear, 11.13 Sat Jun 22 2007

Honestly, how am I supposed to live without you cleaning up after all my mistakes? ;) Thanks, dearest. -- Huajun Chen 23:10, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations

I would like to take the time to personally thank you for all your hard work around here. keep it up. Big Boss 14:49, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

And as far as that award that I was thinking of creating I thought that it would be a one time only thing. So that way you couldn't get cluttered with the same award over and over again. Big Boss 14:56, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I'll do that. ...maybe after I write all of the stuff first. -- Huajun Chen 19:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Leave the Rafael info the way i had it ok? i have that so we know what happens in all the duels hes involved in. --Dark Yugi 01:50, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Merges

  • No quibbles here. You may also want to specially expand the Battle Phase section detailing the steps in an attack. The one thing I forgot to add personally. :p TwoTailedFox (talk contribs) 22:18, 24 June 2007

Errata Pages

We've always kept the Errata Article's Errata Text free from links. It makes it look neater, especially with the new layout that they will all eventually use.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 15:15, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I really should have had this done from the Start

OK, finally finished the new Navigation Template. This will (hopefully) be used on the pages leading off from the Main Card Articles, and allows for pain-free browsing of one particular card's data.

The name field is the name as appears in the Article Database. This is to make the system compatible with cards like Skull Knight #2 and Oscillo Hero #2 (Which would be entered as Skull Knight 2 and Oscillo Hero 2, respectively). name2 is as how the card name normally appears.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 16:42, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

About Dark Ruler Ha Des

I included the link to the Archfiend in his article a a "See Also" because before was an unknown archfiend link in the end of the page, i wanted people to know that he is not an archfiend card. -- Tyrant Slayer 17:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Certainly an Idea. If you wish to proceed, no objections here ^^--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:36, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Question about new category

Hey, darling, I'm sorry I haven't been very active lately. I got roped into this summer program whatnot and won't be able to spend as much time on the internet as I used to. Anyway, I was wondering, should I make a "Special Anime Card Images" category? Because I noticed that there are a lot of cards that can't be played in the game like The Ties of Friendship or Illusion's Key and those crazy cards Pegasus issued at Duelist Kingdom. Or should I just file them into the seperate YGO English Anime Images and YGO Japanese Anime Images category? -- Huajun Chen 16:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

  • 'k, I'll try. -- Huajun Chen 19:20, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
    • ...this is only for Anime & Manga Apperances, right? -___-;; -- Huajun Chen 19:37, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
      • ...I'll go back to writing character profiles. When will you have this template installed? -- Huajun Chen 19:51, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
        • When I meant "installed", I meant "embedded". So essentially, we now have to copy-and-paste the template into all the pages? -- Huajun Chen 19:59, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
          • Sigh. It's depressing when I think of all the pages we have to embed the template into one by one. -- Huajun Chen 21:41, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Dynamic Changes

I reverted the (accidental) changes I made, and transferred what I understood of the modified DNB to a new Template. The 1 for 1 copy I used to test multiple Columns appeared to have a glitch, but it's workable if I use a set number of columns. I have ones created for 2, 3 and 4 Column DynamicNavigationBoxes, accessed by using DNBXColumns where X is 2, 3 or 4.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:07, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

  • It would make the Decklists easier to write, sure. And there's only a problem with the cached image, the flaw is fixed when you re-load the page (Or force one by clicking edit, and then clicking "Show preview")--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:17, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Erratas

Generally speaking, each and every change, no matter how minor, is to be logged. For examples of Errata Pages that should be emulated, see:

--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:00, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

    • The general idea was to not only to mention what set the Errata was seen in, but also to present a card image where possible. Later changes in Errata in the same set are also to be cataloged (Although this can be done in a separate section).--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:59, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
      • I actually don't know how 'tagging' works. When I have some time, I'll have a look into it.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 02:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Upload Help

I've been trying to upload a better version of the Rare Hunter picture, but it just keeps re-uploading the old one. I have no clue what's going on, do you have any suggestions?--SlashMan 19:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

I deleted the redirect because I needed to search for pages with Mokuba on a wider range. I was planning to restore it later, ya know. -- Huajun Chen 19:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of my Page

I created them! Arent they cool? —This unsigned comment was made by Wrigty (talkcontribs) 21:39, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, they're very interesting. But maybe you could try to contribute to the website before creating your own cards? I mean...I dunno. Just a suggestion. -- Huajun Chen 23:27, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Deletions

...I'm sorry! I'll stop if you want me too. ;___; -- Huajun Chen 23:27, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

  • We have to start logging our little deleting sprees. Anyway, I was just so pissed that there was so much random useless junk like Right Arm of the Forbidden One is best used with Exodia the Forbidden One. …seriously. You think? What kind of card tip is that? And in the Card Trivia section, there’s: Guardian Grarl is holding Gravity Axe - Grarl in the picture. I mean, considering the fact it’s needed to summon Grarl in the first place… -- Huajun Chen 23:31, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
    • It's a joke. I'm just saying whenever we have massive deleting rampages in the course of one night (like the 'Card List' incident, for example) we should totally record it so we can look back months from now and think "Good times, good times..." -- Huajun Chen 23:36, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
      • It only shows we have to record our sprees, lawls. ...and I'm trying not to think about it? -- Huajun Chen 23:43, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Some Deletions

Can you please delete the following pages: Anime and Manga Appearances:Venominaga, the Deity of Venomous Serpents Card Tips:Venominaga, the Deity of Venomous Serpents Card Trivia:Venominaga, the Deity of Venomous Serpents

I have already moved their content to Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes' page. Thanks.--Tyrant Slayer 20:55, 01 July 2007 (UTC).

I reverted the edits Seto Kaiba did to Fox's page but I barely realized my user page was deleted until now. Thanks for having my back. -- Huajun Chen 21:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

            • The Ring was...interesting. Not nearly as good as its Japanese counterpart (in which the villain was a hermaphrodite) but, it killed the hours. -- Huajun Chen 00:42, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
              • Wasn't that scary, huh? Man, horror movies are such a letdown these days. Either it's all cheap special effects or stuff that's just plain gory but not the least bit scary. -- Huajun Chen 00:47, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Assumingly, not all great minds think alike. ^_~ And I wasn't being sarcastic this time 'round, sorry. XDD -- Huajun Chen 00:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Was that the one with the 8 Mile and Signs parodies as well? I thought it was mad funny. And I guess the title is just supposed to attribute to the fact it's a parody. -- Huajun Chen 01:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Strategy?

Yeah, not all articles Category:Advanced Gameplay fit perfectly in Category:Game Strategy but OTOH knowing the finer points of the rules is the prerequiste for good deckbuilding and play. I was aiming at creating some central index from which to find all articles from which you should be able to learn better gameplay. Perhaps another category higher up would be an alternative. --Pjacobi 16:25, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Image Help and how about YOU do the Card Tips

  • Apparently both Echo and Giese Hunt uses it...though I'm not sure why. Anyway, why don't you go to the "Uncategorized pages" and delete all the card tips that don't make sense so I won't have to waste my time embedding in the proper template to just have them deleted afterwards. -- Huajun Chen 22:19, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm the type of person who believes in setting a solid foundation on the bottom before creating a skyscraper so that it doesn't fall down halfway through the building process. So even if I (or you) don't link the ruling pages right now, I'll come back and do it eventually. -- Huajun Chen 23:08, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Could you do me a favor?

  • Whenever you have some spare time, could you go through all the Card Trivia pages in the Uncategorized section and weed out the bad ones? You don’t have to edit the format or anything—I’ll do that. -- June 01:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I'd say to take it out, seeing as the Ban list changes every six months, and heavens know if next year whether or not this tip will be valid. Also, in about an hour (at my time, at least) it's going to be July 4th! Yey American nationlistic pride! BTW, when are you going to sleep? Question about non-TCG and/or OCG cards + Venom question

  • Do we need Card Trivia, Anime Manga Appearences, Glitches, Erratas and whatever else for Anime and Video game cards like Doppelganger and Leopard Girl?
    • Want to make a template for the venom cards?
      • I don't know how to, and no, I really don't want to. I'm busy embedding your new-fangled template into the billion-zillion pages. I finished the "Trivia" section and am up to the "Errata" section. -- June 18:14, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

"Hard-Sellin'"

  • Yes, they should be moved, and have them listed as an Errata change. They pulled a similar stunt with "Level Up!".--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 15:01, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Only the Japanese Images, to match the current Errata. Old Card Imags that have old Title errata are to remain on the server with their filename intact. A new Errata image, however, needs to be uploaded with the corrected case. Luckily, this software distinguishes between case, so overwriting is not an issue.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 17:08, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Diamond Dude

  • Because runs Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude in a Dark Magician deck for the sake of using it on Sage's Stone and Dark Magic Curtain? I understand it's splashable, but the guy who wrote this tip just copy-and-pasted the tip into half a dozen spell cards for the sake of mass advertisement.
    • On a side note, I finished the Glitches, Trivia, Errata, and Tips sections. I guess Rulings come next, then Galleries, and I'm saving Anime/Manga Appearances for last. -- June 19:56, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Actually, it means crazy. Can you read Chinese? Anyway, my computer has Chinese fonts installed in it, and sometimes they get all weird and start replacing all the apostrophies with chinese lettering. -- June 20:10, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Templates

Galleries

The idea of the templates is that it's idiot-proof. This idea takes care of having to remember to format, and it also -tells- the user what goes where. I plan to have a "Gallery Creator" done, and this works quite well with it, and follows the same format as the Monster/Spell/Trap articles. Sure, we don't need to be told what goes where, but the same can't be said for someone new.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 12:07, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

  • -glances at Deltaneos- But, TwoTailedFox, sir, we're both new. -- June 12:42, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Del: Rarity? Set number? Gahh. I'm so not touching the gallery templates until last. -- June 12:42, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Galleries/Rulings

I don't want to think of it as "overrules", just a modification of an existing style. I know it seems like a big change, but I'm hoping it won't be nearly as much work as it looks.

As for the rulings, I can see your point. However, can just mention what ruling pages reference the card in rulings? If it looks like too much text, we can just simply link to the rulings page, and not provide the text.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 22:25, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm not bothered about the Errata pages, since there's more of a need to be flexible with their contents.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 22:39, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Hiita the Fire Charmer

XO ...as for the edit count, I think I'm actually 7,809. Hmm. And we're still newbies, as I not-so-subtlely mentioned to Foxtoday . XDDD;; P.S. No, I'm not mad, and I really never was. It's nice to have a fun side-conversation while you're working, but sometimes I can come across as snappish if the work starts to get stressful. -- June 01:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Card Trivia

Why are you opposed to document artwork changes on the trivia pages? --Pjacobi 14:27, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Uhh? You even deleted my additions [1]? What's the idea with that? --Pjacobi 14:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, of course and I've mentioning the cause. Should I use more direct language?

Obviously the artwork edits and exchanges can be categorized into

  • Decency
  • Offensive to Christians
  • Blood, weapons, violence
  • Strange or unknown reasons.

I'd say mentioning them on the Trivia page is superior to an uncommented gallery page (also not all cards have gallery pages). And having just the two versions is better presentation than a complete gallery whcih may hold much more versions.

I was in the process of going through existing lists at http://www.kaibaland.de/?id=zensur and http://www.ygo-card.de/zensur.php?wwwlang=de and add the remarks and comparisons wherever we have both images. But jsut deleting my additions without prior discussion doesn't provide much motivation.

Pjacobi 14:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I see you are re-doing it in a nicer format (Card Trivia:Graceful_Charity). That's fine with me and I hope we come to a mutual understanding of the issue. I have some sympathy for the original Wiki approach of using only minimal, basic markup, as this makes editing very easy for new users, but the boxed images are obviously part of the "corporate identity" of this Wikia, so it would be pointless to struggle against that. --Pjacobi 14:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Use of user talk pages

Why do you remove [2] your comment [3] I've moved here [4][5] to keep the discussion on one talk page? Jumping back and forth between two user talk pages is rather confusing. --Pjacobi 14:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

OK, then I'm answering here again if it's your preference.
I don't know whether that effectively can outrule that I'm a pervert, but I'm a long time user (and admin) on German and English Wikipedia (Just made an edit [6] to confirm the identity).
Pjacobi 15:02, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Everything resolved so far. Thanks. I'll come back to adding these trivia sections later and perhaps writing an article about Artwork Changes.
But before I have to log off for now, may I direct your attention to Yu-Gi-Oh!:Community Portal#Making lists more usefull. That page doesn't seem to be much frequented, so maybe it's just a bad idea to start a discussion there.
--Pjacobi 15:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Choosing Errata Pictures

If possible, use the most up-to-date picture we have (Which here, would be HL03). If we don't have it in the database, we fall back to the next most recent, and so on.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 17:15, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

New Format

I saw one user experimenting with it in his user page, but frankly, I find it very ugly, in the context it's being tested in, in Soul of the Duelist.

Now, if you can get the lines to wholly fill the box (think like in Microsoft Excel), it might look OK, but it looks tacky right now.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 20:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

(meta) Now the discussion is distributed over four pages. Some sort of central discussion like the Wikipedia:Village Pump really wouldn't hurt.
I've made this test page, but changed some other formatting things also. I don't see a serious problem to achieve the desired formatting, whatever that may be, if sortable tables are to be included.
Anyway, I personally would prefer some drastic changes in formatting, but being a latecomer and not intending to become a Top 10 contributor here, I'm not in the position to aggressively push them.
Last but not least, my original posting at Yu-Gi-Oh!:Community_Portal#Making_lists_more_usefull wasn't about presentation but content issues. I'll elaborate on this later. Only two short points:
  • Deleting the very short lists and switching to categories is just fine with me.
  • A huge sortable table of all monster may be beyond the limits given by performance and usability. Some intelligent subsetting is needed.

Jerkity Jerk Jerk

No, I just enjoy throwing around names. Listen, my folks are arguring their heads off so I'm heading to the sauna because I need to get away from their bitching. See you in a few. -- June 21:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hiita the Fire Charmer... again

Hey Delta, can you look over Hiita's page for me? I'm not sure if I added the World Championship 2007 stuff correctly. Minhtam2448 22:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see

In other words, you want to incorporate both the option for my style and yours, using IF formatting to decide what to allocate? Yeah, I tried that, there's definitely something missing, because my last attempt didn't work. It might be an idea to check the Mediawiki:Monobook.css both here and on MediaWiki, to see if there's anything pertaining to IF statements.

If we can pull it off, I'm all for it.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 15:36, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
