Shuji Kubota is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force games.

In the English version, his name is changed to Terence, who is a character from the previous Tag Force games, known as Yuji Kubo in the Japanese version.

        シティ在住（ざいじゅう）の青年（せいねん）。

        生（う）まれたときから親（おや）の敷（し）いたレールの上（うえ）で生活（せいかつ）し、将来（しょうらい）は親（おや）の家業（かぎょう）を継（つ）ぐことを嘱望（しょくぼう）されている。
        しかしそれに逆（さか）らった彼（かれ）は家（いえ）を飛（と）び出（だ）し、現在（げんざい）はひとりで生活（せいかつ）している。

        全（すべ）てのものに反発（はんぱつ）しないと気（き）が済（す）まない性質（せいしつ）で、シャイな気持（きも）ちを隠（かく）すためにわざとひねくれた事（こと）も言（い）う。
        心根（しんこん）はやさしいのだが、いつも思（おも）っている事（こと）と正反対（せいはんたい）のことを口（くち）にしては人知（ひとし）れず後悔（こうかい）している。

        However, he defied that by leaving his family's home, and he now lives on his own.

        His personality leaves him uneasy unless he rebels against everything, so he conceals his shyness by deliberately saying cynical things.
        Being fairly nice at heart, he regrets saying the opposite of what he thinks, but keeps it to himself.

        世間一般（せけんいっぱん）への反抗心（はんこうしん）が強（つよ）く、ありふれた日常（にちじょう）を強（つよ）く否定（ひてい）するあまり、「前世（ぜんせ）は特別（とくべつ）な存在（そんざい）だった」という自分（じぶん）を演（えん）じている。
        そのためよく虚言癖（きょげんへき）や妄想癖（もうそうへき）を疑（うたが）われるが、本心（ほんしん）からの言葉（ことば）ではなく、演技（えんぎ）であることを自覚（じかく）している。
        演技（えんぎ）の隙（すき）を突（つ）っ込（こ）まれると慌（あわ）てて誤魔化（ごまか）すあたり、実（じつ）は照（て）れがあるようだ。

        Considering he flubs his lines sometimes and feels embarassed when people catch onto it, he might actually be somewhat shy.
