Design[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Nomura is a young pale boy with bright yellow hair, mostly obstructed by his hat, which, in actuality, is a parasitic Chapeau Alien called Damas. He wears a black gown with a gray button up shirt underneath it and is seen carrying a book, in which he has stored his Duel Disk. Nomura's overall outfit is meant to resemble that of a prophet's.
Etymology[edit]
The alias "Nomurandamas" that he and his partner took is a reference to the astrologer Michel de Nostredame, better-known with his Latinised name "Nostradamus", who was infamous for his alleged prophecy of the end of the world. The alias is also a contraction of "Nomura-and-Damas" (Nomura to Damasu in Japanese).
Biography[edit]
Nomura and Damas were scheduled to Rush Duel Yuhi Ohdo in the Coruffium. Nomura wasted little time in impressing his Chico Rank upon Yuhi, but was annoyed when Yuhi questioned his age. Nomura's disruption tactics and Damas' prophecies from Mr. Universe easily distracted Yuhi, and Nomura successfully destroyed his field with "Final Destiny" and powered up "Doomsayer Samurai Nosferadeimos", wiping out most of Yuhi's LP. However, to Nomura's shock, Yuhi had become so affected by Damas' prophecies that he began tossing a coin to decide his moves, and he accidentally flipped "Nosferadeimos" face-down and then face-up again, resetting its ATK to zero. Yuhi then Tribute Summoned "Jointech Tossceratops", but despite apparently calling its coin-tossing effect wrong, he successfully powered it up; Nomura was flabbergasted to realize Yuhi had been getting his coin tosses wrong. Yuhi prophesied Nomura's loss; the effect of "Tossceratops" preventing Nomura from activating a Trap Card to defend himself, and defeating Nomura. After the Rush Duel, Nomura and Damas' prophecies were exposed, and Nomura tried to threaten Yuhi, but Venus Ganiko threw him out of the Coruffium for fighting.[2]
Nomura was Rush Dueling George Jersey in the Alien Residential Area when Damas and the other aliens began to sense something approaching.[3]
Deck[edit]
Nomura plays a Fiend Deck, composed of cards inspired by the end of the world as a concept. His strategy is to recur resources from his Graveyard to continuously make use of "Final Destiny" and annihilate the entire field, then use the cards sent to the opponent's Graveyard to increase the ATK of his ace monster, "Doomsayer Samurai Nosferadeimos".
